Eligibility

Age

Maximum age 28 years as on 05.12.2025 (i.e., candidate should not be born earlier than 05.12.1997). Relaxations applicable as per notification for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/departmental candidates.

Educational Qualification

Full-time Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline with 65% marks (average of all semesters). Relaxed to 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/Departmental candidates. For Computer discipline, a 3-year MCA is also acceptable where specified.

Important: The qualification must be obtained from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institute/university. Category once declared in the online form cannot be changed later.

Selection Process

  1. Online Examination (CBT) — 200 marks total:
    • Domain Knowledge Test — 100 marks (40 minutes)
    • Aptitude Test — 100 marks (80 minutes) — (Quantitative Aptitude, English, Reasoning, General Awareness; 25 marks each)
  2. Group Discussion (GD) — shortlisted candidates
  3. Interview

Weightage for final selection: CBT : GD : Interview = 75 : 10 : 15. To be shortlisted for GD/Interview, candidates must meet the percentile cut-offs in CBT as per category (UR/EWS — 50 percentile; SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD — 40 percentile).

Training & Remuneration

Selected candidates will undergo 1 year training as Management Trainees (Technical) and will be registered as Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. On successful completion of training, candidates will be placed as Assistant Manager (E1 grade).

  • Basic Pay (during training): ₹50,000 per month
  • Post-training Pay (E1): ₹60,000–1,80,000
  • Approximate CTC: ₹16–17 lakhs per annum (excluding PRP/location allowances)

  2. Complete One-Time Registration (if new user) and log in.
  3. Fill the online application, upload photograph & signature (JPG/JPEG limits apply), and pay the application/processing fee online.
  4. Application Fee: ₹1050 (General/OBC/EWS) | ₹300 (SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/Departmental — processing fee).
  5. After successful payment, download/print the Provisional Application Form (keep the Application Number safe).

Incomplete applications, applications without fee, or applications not meeting eligibility will be rejected.

Important Notes

  • Only Indian nationals may apply.
  • Candidates employed in Govt./PSUs/Autonomous bodies should produce NOC at the time of GD/Interview.
  • Medical fitness as per SAIL norms is mandatory.
